NEET-SS counselling through MCC

- Candidates who have qualified NEET-SS, conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS).

- High school / higher secondary certificate or birth certificate, as proof of date of birth
Originals are required at the allotted institution. The bulletin states that candidates without original certificates will not be allowed to take admission.

Which cycle this describes
This page records SS counselling 2025, whose information bulletin MCC dated 10 March 2026, with Round 2 schedules issued in August 2026. MCC issues a fresh bulletin for each cycle, and the page will be updated when the next one is published.
What MCC allots
MCC counsels 100% of seats as All India Quota for the super-specialty courses — DM, MCh and DrNB — in the institutions participating in the counselling.
Tamil Nadu in-service seats are the exception. Following the Supreme Court’s order of 16 March 2022 in N. Karthikeyan & Ors. vs State of Tamil Nadu & Ors. (W.P. (C) No. 53 of 2022), 50% of seats are reserved for in-service candidates in Tamil Nadu, and counselling for those candidates is conducted by the state.
Two rounds
The bulletin states: “There will be only two rounds of SS AIQ online counselling, Round 1 and Round 2.”
- Round 1. If you are allotted a seat, joining the institution and completing the admission formalities are mandatory if you want to be considered for upgradation. Willingness for upgradation is submitted at the time of joining.
- Round 2 is an upgradation round. To upgrade, you fill choices afresh. If you are allotted a new seat in Round 2, your Round 1 seat is automatically cancelled. If you are not, you keep the Round 1 seat, provided you completed admission formalities and did not resign it.

When the deposit is forfeited
The bulletin says the security deposit is forfeited if a candidate:
- is allotted a seat in any round and does not join the institution, or surrenders the seat for any reason
- has the admission cancelled for any reason
It also states specifically that a candidate allotted a seat in Round 1 who does not report to the institution forfeits the deposit.
Fees, bonds and stipends
As with undergraduate counselling, MCC states that stipend, fee structure, course duration, bond amount and rural or tribal service conditions vary from state to state and institution to institution. It takes no responsibility for that information, and directs candidates to confirm it with each college before locking choices. Choices once locked cannot be modified.
